radio silence

my laptop entered the winter of its discontent last week, and after many trips to the apple store to see if it could be salvaged, the prognosis was fatal and i had to execute a "do not resuscitate." i fear i may have mixed a few too many metaphors in the sentence above. the good news is, a new laptop will arrive in twenty-four to forty-eight hours! until then, i'm reduced to using andrew's sad clunker of a dell, when he doesn't need it, and when it feels limber enough to boot up. that's why i haven't been posting or answering emails or responding to facebook messages or anything. because i'd have to go use the greasy computers at the public library. but hope springs eternal, and i'm looking forward to resuming normal online opperations within a few days.
